Terra Luft is a speculative fiction author whose imagination is most often drawn to dark tales. When other kids were reading books that as adults they look back on with love, she was reading Stephen King and her mother’s discarded romance novels. It explains a lot.
An overachiever by nature, Terra tackles every project with coffee and sarcasm and believes all rules exist to be broken. She works full time as an IT analyst and spends her nights juggling her family responsibilities and all the things she can’t say no to, including The Infinite Monkeys. Her insane lifestyle leaves no room for television or much sleeping. She laments the loss of football the most.
Terra has traditionally published short stories, two to date, and is furiously working on what she hopes will become her debut novel. She resides in West Jordan with her indulgent and supportive husband, their two daughters, the ghost of their naughty dog and a cat who stole her heart. You can find her online at terraluft.com.
Johnny Worthen is an award-winning, best-selling author of books and stories. Trained in modern literary criticism and cultural studies, he writes upmarket fiction in multiple genres, symbolized by his love of tie-dye and good words. “I write what I like to read,” he says. “This guarantees me at least one fan.”
Johnny entered the world of mystery with his award winning novel, THE BRAND DEMAND, a tale of blackmail, activism, and ethics. He followed that up with THE FINGER TRAP, a genre-bending, coming-of-age, mid-life crisis, social satire, comedy noire (with quiche) that introduces Tony Flaner, a slacker, every-man detective who can’t throw a punch but will slay a room with sarcasm.
Johnny’s debut novel, BEATRYSEL, an occult horror, and its companion story, DR. STUART’S HEART explore the dark sides of love and Magick.
Johnny’s short stories appear in numerous anthologies and are all pretty cool.
Johnny moonlights as an editor for Omnium Gatherum Media, publisher out of Los Angeles that specializes in dark fiction.
Named Utah Writer of the Year, Johnny is a frequent presenter and panelist at writing conferences and fan conventions and teaches writing as an Associate Instructor at the University of Utah.
Johnny lives in Sandy, Utah with his wife, sons and a cat named Junior.
Talysa Sainz is a young adult fantasy author who believes life’s deepest truths can be found in fiction, and magic is as essential to life as breath. She found her purpose in life through the written word. Reading gives her such immense joy, but writing gives voice to her soul.
She has a great job hanging out at her second home, the library, spending hours among the books and people she loves. She also works as an editor, helping other people create the worlds they imagine. She studied English Language, Linguistics, and Editing at Brigham Young University. She is still working her own novel, which she writes in the rare moments her kids are asleep.
Talysa especially loves exploring the mountains, all things Harry Potter, eating copious amounts of chocolate, collecting uniquely nerdy jewelry, and having pun wars with her family. She lives in West Jordan with her nerdy husband and three hobbit children.
Alex Harrow is a genderqueer, pansexual, and demisexual author of queer science fiction and fantasy. Alex’ pronouns are they/them.
When not writing diversity with a chance of explosions, Alex is a high school English teacher, waging epic battles against comma splices, misused apostrophes, and anyone under the delusion that the singular ‘they’ is grammatically incorrect.
A German immigrant, Alex has always been drawn to language and stories. They began to write when they realized that the best guarantee to see more books with queer characters was to create them. Alex cares deeply about social justice and wants to see diverse characters, including LGBTQ+ protagonists, in more than the stereotypical coming out story.
Alex currently lives in Salt Lake City, Utah with their equally geeky wife, outnumbered by three adorable feline overlords, and what could not possibly be too many books.
