Every writer’s brain is unique… how many different stories can grow from a single seed?
Monthly writing prompts are announced at the Chapter Meetings. These prompts can be used if you need inspiration for something to write for the next critique session.
2017 Writing Prompts are designed to feed into the “A Year of The Monkeys” anthology. Each month is dedicated to a zodiac sign with prompts taken from any aspect of that sign as referenced in the following chart:
November 2016 – Write a scene or story from the POV of a character who is hallucinating from sleep deprivation.
October 2016 – Write a scene or story from the POV of a character who believes someone they trust is lying to them.
September 2016 – Write a scene or story where your character tries something they are afraid of.
August 2016 – Write a scene or story where your character loses something he/she thinks they can’t live without.
July 2016 -Write a scene that includes a picnic.
June 2016 – Write a scene where a character walks past a spooky location.
May 2016 – Write an action scene where someone dies. (Bonus: they die by hammer.)
April 2016 – Write a scene or a story where a character is talking to someone (or something) in a mirror.
March 2016 – Write a scene or a story with both a spaceship and a dragon in it.
February 2016 – Your character thinks someone is following him/her.
